Veneer
Its important to know the type of finish your
wood furniture is in order to properly maintain it. Remember it
is the finish you are cleaning, not the wood itself.
Protect all wooden furniture from direct sunlight.
Exposure to the sun's rays can dry out the wood and actually bleach
out the color. Both extremely moist and dry air should be avoided;
use a humidifier or dehumidifier when needed to help keep wood from
drying out or warping. Also, don't place your wood furniture near
air vents; the forced air will adversely affect the wood.
Once a month, clean the surface with a soft cloth
and a quality cleaner formulated for wood furniture. Twice a year,
apply a good quality emulsion wax to the finish.
For minor repair of water rings, stains, or deep scratches,
please consult a professional furniture refinisher.
